My name is Tom Gumbert and I thank you for visiting my website. I’ve recently decided that as a writer currently transitioning from “aspiring” to “emerging” that it was time to heed the advice of industry professionals and start “marketing” myself.
The first step was the creation of this site which was accomplished through the immense creativity and talent of my nephew Brad Wallace. Thanks Brad! Brad is also bringing me into the current century technology-wise and will be assisting me in tapping into the power of social media. Hopefully this old dog will be able to learn the new tricks.
A little about myself – I live near Cincinnati, Ohio on a hilltop overlooking the Ohio River with my wife Andy and our family of pets. I’ve been writing for about ten years, though only in the past few have I started submitting. At this writing I’ve had seven short stories published either online or in print with two due out in the Spring of 2013. Recently I signed a contract to have “Nine Lives,” an anthology that I wrote with April Kautzman, published by All Things That Matter Press. More to come on the release date.
I’ve completed (though may still revise) two novels plus I’m currently working on a third novel and continue to work on short stories as ideas present themselves.
I hope you will take the time to look around, perhaps read(or listen to) some of the short stories that have been published as well as check out excerpts of things I’m working on. Know of a publisher or literary agent who might be interested—by all means point them in this direction. Have suggestions or feedback? Would love to hear them. By all means, enjoy yourself and keep reading!
